Ferry from Madeira to Porto Santo

Getting from Madeira to Porto Santo is straightforward — ferry or plane. Both run daily, but the experience is very different. Here's what you need to know.

Ferry — Porto Santo Line

The ferry is the most popular way to reach Porto Santo. Porto Santo Line operates daily services from Funchal harbour (Ponta de Garajau terminal). The crossing takes 2 hours 30 minutes.

The ferry has indoor and outdoor seating, a cafe and a car deck. You can bring your rental car if you book car space in advance — but do it early in summer, as car spaces sell out days ahead.

Flight — SATA/Azores Airlines

SATA/Azores Airlines operates the 15-minute flight between Madeira Airport (FNC) and Porto Santo Airport (PXO). It's the fastest option, but flights can be delayed or cancelled in windy conditions — especially in winter.
